Christmas Wishes from New Hampshire

Merry Christmas from snowy NH! Another foot today on top of all we've had already. Just wanted to update everyone on a couple of things. First, Joe's collarbone has healed and he is out of the sling. He still needs to take it easy on some activities (hanging, swinging from things), but he has already gone ice-skating and sledding.

Last night, Caleb received his advanced brown belt during a ceremony at the Quest Martial Arts Academy. He worked extremely hard for this and we are so proud of him! In order to move up, he had to pass a rigorous physical test as well as score a 94% on the very long written exam. He will be testing for his black belt in March.

Maggie and Caleb recently had their Christmas piano recital at a local nursing home. It went very well. This is a highlight for the residents, as they enjoy hearing (and singing along with) all the carols the kids play. We also hosted a recital for Maggie's piano students at our home. She is teaching three youngsters as well as her sister Emma and brother Joe.

The kids are all doing well with their schooling. It keeps Reese very busy. Maggie is in the 8th grade, Caleb in 5th, Emma in 1st and Joe is doing Pre-K/Kindergarden work.

Christmas Blessing to all during this Advent season!

Love,
Jay, Reese, Maggie, Caleb, Emma, and Joe

La Salette Shrine

The Shrine at La Salette in Attleboro is a wonderful holiday experience if you haven't seen it. The festival of lights is a remarkable thing to see. If you've never been and are curious to check it out, the directions are located here . It's become a yearly tradition for Lori and I to go and we will be heading down there tonight.

It took longer than we expected...

For Joe to make his first hospital visit! While playing baseball with his older brother, Caleb, he fell on the frozen ground and broke his collarbone. It happened on Sunday afternoon. Of course, by Sunday night he was back running around the house with his arm hanging uselessly by his side.

He'll be in a sling for 3 weeks, meaning no ice-skating, tree climbing, bunk-bed jumping, or any other high-risk "sports" he enjoys. I just hope we don't get any snow between now and when he is cleared for activity. That boy loves to sled down our hill, and it will be hard for him to sit and watch.

It is also difficult for him to understand that the sling is there to help him. He is already taking it off when not watched. Say a prayer for him (and us) that he heals quickly.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Thanksgiving!

Take care,

Jay and family

Happy Holidays to everyone from The Molloy's in Florida. All is well down here. Matthew is a Freshman in High School and doing Dual Enrollment. He is also now employed at a local supermarket. He is preparing for his Confirmation on Jan. 12th. If you are down this way or would like to visit, email or call. We would love to have you. Nicole is in sixth grade now and is getting ready for her first dance competition in 2 weeks. Lloyd is working hard as usual and is now suffering from Kidney Stones. OUCH!! I am still working at the school and staying busy with the kids. Hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday season.

I'm finally a blogger

Jack, thanks for setting up the blog. It's a great idea. I just wanted to let everybody know that Cathy started a new job as a Compensation Manager at RISD this week. All is well so far.

Overall, the Foxborough Davis' are doing well. Richard and Hannah are finishing up fall soccer and Elizabeth will be taking either dance or gymnastics soon. I'm still at Fidelity.

Everybody pull for the Sox tonight. I think they're going to need the karma and positive energy of Red Sox Nation tonight to get them back to Fenway.

I hope to hear from everybody soon.

Love,
Mark

Spirit lose in finals; team is being dissolved

The Spirit lost in the finals, three games to none, in the Can-Am league championship to the Nashua Pride. With the loss, the season is over and so too is the franchise. It is being dissolved after five years.

I loved the job, but after three years it's time to start looking for something else. A sad, sad day.

North Shore Spirit playoffs

Hi everyone

We, the North Shore Spirit, are in the Can-Am league playoffs with the Atlantic City Surf in round one. It's tied 1-1 after the first two games. I write this looking out of my hotel window here in Atlantic City , NJ, getting ready for game three. If we win in the opening round, we would match up with either the New Jersey Jackals or the Nashua Pride in the championship series.

I want to thank Russ, Fiona, Laurie, and Phil and their families for stopping by to visit with us. It was a pleasure having all of you in our ballpark.

Hope you are all well!

helloe from Maryland!

Hello all,

Can't wait to see everyone at the picnic this year. I'll have pictures from our receny trip to Italy to share as well. Needless to say, the food was awesome (not quite as good as my mothers, but...) and the sights were amazing.

As for us, we are FINALLY settled in our new place and looking forward to staying put for a few years. If you are ever in the area and want a VIP tour of the Naval Academy, please know our door is always open.

Well, see you in a few weeks!

Love, Katie

PICNICS HAVE MERGED

To supplement the E-mail from Aunt Paula, the Palumbo's will be joining the Ciampa's this year at the family picnic for the first time ever. The picnic, as Jay just alluded to, will be on Saturday, August 4, at Hopkinton State Park. Here is hoping for an excellent turnout.

Friday, July 6, 2007

Hello Ciampas!

The NH Molloy's will be at the picnic on the 4th. We are thinking of camping at Miles Standish State Forest either before or after. Has anyone been there recently? It looks good online, but knowing the condition of Hopkington over the last few years, I am a bit hesitant...

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

WELCOME TO THE CIAMPA FAMILY BLOG

Hello all,

I have decided to create a blog for all things Ciampa. I figure this is a good way for us all to stay in touch and catch ourselves up on things. Please by all means stop by and say hello, post news, videos, pictures, anything you want.

As you know I am no longer able to see everyone at the picnics (the price of fame, I guess) so I'd like to use this blog to connect with the relatives on the Ciampa side that I hardly get to see any more.

I hope to hear from as many of you as possible. To get started and post you may need to set up a Google account. It's free, quick, and easy. After that's done (takes 2 minutes, you can do it from here) you're all ready to post away.

Thanks and I hope to hear from you all soon.

All my best,

Jack
